Changes at Cheamweb

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Cheamweb has gone under a redesign. As a result of the changes previous links for the Cheamweb Gallery no longer work. To view the photography go to the Cheamweb homepage and follow the links. One new feature for the gallery is that the photos will now display as a slideshow. I still plan to do some more work on it so let me know your comments.

Photos of wetlands added to Cheamweb.com

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

I’ve added a new section to the Cheamweb Gallery with photos of wetlands areas near Chilliwack. Cheam Lake and the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve both provide places for looking at nature here in the Fraser Valley.

Changes to David’s blog

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Lately I’ve done some improvements to the theme on my website. I made some colour changes and I removed the individual headers for categories to make things easier to maintain and to provide a consistent look throughout. I also redesigned the home page. If you have any thoughts write a comment below. Another change is the naming of the blog as Dave’s Journey to reflect some of the travels I’ve done and that life is a journey. The website is currently at the same address, however, it can also be accessed by going to davesjourney.com.

New domain name

Friday, August 25th, 2006

I registered a new domain name davesjourney.com that I plan on using for my blog. At some point I would also like to add some features to the website, such as a gallery and incorporating the material from the Dave’s CyberHome website. The web address can be used to connect now to Dave’s Notes. Stay tuned for further updates.

My First Mac

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

Earlier this year I had some fun and wrote up a poem about my first Macintosh that I owned, a computer that I called “Hal’s Darkroom.” I used it for working with my photographs. When I first bought it PhotoCDs was the way that I brought my pictures onto the computer and with the Mac’s excellent support for that and Photoshop were what convinced me to get a Mac. It was also the computer that I started with for designing web pages. I used it for many good years. I sold the computer a while back, but I came across it again and unfortunately it didn’t seem to work properly and so I decided to write something about it. I have posted In Memory of Hal’s Darkroom at Dave’s CyberHome

Event Calendar Added

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

I have added EventCalendar 3.0 to Dave’s Notes to display upcoming events. One can subscribe to the events using iCal or a similar program.

Welcome to my new blog

Monday, March 7th, 2005

Hello and welcome to the new version of Dave’s Notes. Now taking advantage of WordPress. For those that haven’t seen it lately it now has some new features for managing themes and pages that you want to keep seperate from the regular blog. I have the contents of my previous Dave’s Notes blog and the Cheamweb Journal (located in the Fraser Valley category). Note that due to a change in plans I will likely be posting material related to the Fraser Valley in the existing Cheamweb Journal blog.
