Autumn photos of Cultus Lake

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

On the weekend I was at Stillwood Camp & Conference Centre for the SIM fall conference. Located in Columbia Valley there is a great view of Cultus Lake and the fall colours at this time of year. These are a few of the pictures that I took while there.

Photos of wetlands added to Cheamweb.com

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

I’ve added a new section to the Cheamweb Gallery with photos of wetlands areas near Chilliwack. Cheam Lake and the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve both provide places for looking at nature here in the Fraser Valley.

Bike Tour this past weekend

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Hello. I just want to let you know that I took part this past weekend in the RONA MS Bike Tour. We began on Saturday at Tradex and rode to Trinity Western University (TWU). On Sunday we returned from TWU to Tradex. The weather turned out fine on Sunday and made for an enjoyable ride: on Saturday we had quite a bit of rain. The route on Saturday was 70km, though, for quite a few of us it was a bit shorter as we missed a turn, fortunately the route eventually came back to where we were riding. We took a different route back on Sunday, it was 60km and at one point went along the Fraser River. Overall it was a good experience riding with the other cyclists in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

Snow in April

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

A bit of a surprise this morning when I looked out the window and snow was coming down. The daffodils were feeling a little down:Daffodils in snow

Despite the cool weather the snow disappeared and the sun came out later in the day.

Welcome to my new blog

Monday, March 7th, 2005

Hello and welcome to the new version of Dave’s Notes. Now taking advantage of WordPress. For those that haven’t seen it lately it now has some new features for managing themes and pages that you want to keep seperate from the regular blog. I have the contents of my previous Dave’s Notes blog and the Cheamweb Journal (located in the Fraser Valley category). Note that due to a change in plans I will likely be posting material related to the Fraser Valley in the existing Cheamweb Journal blog.
