Photos of wetlands added to Cheamweb.com
Saturday, May 10th, 2008I’ve added a new section to the Cheamweb Gallery with photos of wetlands areas near Chilliwack. Cheam Lake and the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve both provide places for looking at nature here in the Fraser Valley.
Photography in Agassiz and Harrison
Thursday, October 4th, 2007Yesterday I went to Agassiz and Harrison Lake to take some pictures. I thoughtit would be a good time to go as the leaves are changing colour now. The weather was a mixture of clouds with rain and the sun breaking through at times. As I walked around the beach one could see the sandcastles that are still up from last months competition. What I found most inspiring was right at the end just as I was about to leave a brilliant rainbow appeared over the lake. I quickly ran back to where I could get a good view of it over the lake and took some pictures. Most of the pictures I took were with my 35mm SLR, but I also took a picture of the rainbow with my digital quickly as well.
Cycling around Chilliwack
Saturday, September 1st, 2007Today I went for a bike ride. First I went up Marble Hill Rd. east of Chilliwack and took a few pictures from there.

I came back via Rosedale and then Fairfield Island. The weather today was great with sunshine, but some clouds to keep things from getting too hot.
If you want to bike around Chilliwack, be sure to get out on the roads that head out of town and through the farms. You can take as much or as little time as you want. For an easy ride just go along the farms, but if you want a workout keep heading south until you hit the hills south of Chilliwack and go up those.
Snow in April
Monday, April 2nd, 2007A bit of a surprise this morning when I looked out the window and snow was coming down. The daffodils were feeling a little down:
Despite the cool weather the snow disappeared and the sun came out later in the day.
Going for Lunch
Saturday, February 24th, 2007It is a wet cold day here in Vancouver. For lunch I went out and walked by the engineering buildings right next to the Forestry building. With construction going on it was hard to see the Civil and Mechanical building anymore, though the Engineering cairn was still out in the mall and with a bright red ‘E’ on it. I went to the McDonalds so I lost something after the exercise I got walking over there. On my way back I went to have a look at the libraries and the Main Library is barely recognizable from the way it used to be as the north and south sections are completely rebuilt.
